PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Zamora Park renovation is planned for an existing 4.48-acre park owned by the City of El Monte. The project includes selective demolition and construction of new play areas, a splash pad aquatic playground, a new pre-fabricated restroom building, fitness equipment, resurfacing of an existing basketball court with new lighting, site furnishings, park signage, new park lighting and security camera system, and new paving including permeable pavers and vehicular concrete. The park will include new landscaping, including bioswales and infiltration planters for stormwater treatment, boulders, a new fully operational irrigation system, and California native and adapted plantings, including grasses, shrubs, groundcover, and trees.
Project Location: 3820 Penn Mar Avenue, El Monte CA 91732.
Engineers Estimate: $7,000,000.00
HUD SECTION 3. The subcontractor must, to the greatest extent feasible, provide job training, employment, and contracting opportunities for low- or very- low-income residents in connection with projects and activities in their neighborhoods pursuant to 24 CFR Part 75. These requirements are included in Exhibit C: HUD Section 3 Compliance Information. Forms can be found in Exhibit H: Additional Forms/Affidavits to Complete and Submit with Bid.
This project has a Prevailing Wage requirement. Subcontractors shall be required to comply with all the requirements of all applicable provisions of the California Labor Code and the Federal Davis Bacon Act.
Subcontractors & Suppliers must comply with the requirements of BUILD AMERICA, BUY AMERICA Act, 41 USC 8301.
Minority Hires by Trade: Minority: 28.3% goal - Female: 6.9% goal
DVBE: 3% goal

*Asphalt subcontractors must agree to meet tolerances as mentioned in the drawings and in the specifications.
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:
By submitting a proposal, the bidder acknowledges and agrees to all of the following terms: Proposer has carefully examined ALL the bidding documents/Addenda and that, from his/her own investigation, they have satisfied themselves as to the nature and location of the work. Ohno’s listing of a subcontractor is not an acceptance of any or all of that subcontractor’s conditions, qualifications, exclusions, or exceptions included in the subcontractor’s bid proposal. Ohno is relying on the price submitted in the subcontractor’s proposal as an all-inclusive price for its trade scope found in the plans and specifications regardless of qualifying language in the proposal. Inconsistent bid terms and conditions shall be void. Break outs of any portion of work is permitted as long as specifically and conspicuously called out on proposal. If selected, proposer is prepared to sign a subcontract with Ohno per Ohno’s standard subcontract agreement. A copy of Ohno’s standard subcontract agreement is available at its office locations or upon written request. Ohno Construction reserves the right to request that performance and payment bonds assuring subcontractor’s obligations to Ohno in the amount of 100 percent of the bid to Ohno. Ohno will reimburse the bond premium at actual cost not to exceed 2%. The surety must be a California admitted surety. Insurance must name Ohno as additionally insured and be in an amount required by the specifications.
