The recycle center is approximately 5 acres. The primary facility on site is a covered 16,200 SF sort, wash, and bale structure where workers are on a mechanized assembly line sorting products and materials. There will be three efforts involved with improving the stormwater runoff. The first of these efforts will be to keep any external runoff from the surrounding area from entering the recycle center by surrounding the perimeter of the recycle center with an AC curb. The second effort will be to add a trench drain system throughout the recycle center and regrade certain areas to drain into this trench. Regrading will require demo and replacement of existing asphalt around the trench trains. The new pavement structural section shall match existing. The idea is to force all of the runoff water within the complex into this trench drain system. The discharge from this trench drain will be routed into a single discharge point. The third and final effort will be the installation of an active stormwater treatment system. This treatment system will be the single point where the trench drain runoff will discharge. This treatment system will remove the pollutants required for the base to be in compliance with its industrial General permit for stormwater. The output from the treatment system will then discharge into an existing catch basin outside the recycle complex. Site preparation will include asphalt demolition, grading, capping existing storm drain, trench excavation, backfill, compaction and waste disposal. Site improvements will include installation of trench drains, drain inlets, storm drain piping, sump pump, and storm water treatment system.

Assistance will be available in obtaining bonds, lines of credit, insurance, necessary equipment, supplies, materials or related technical assistance. For information on the availability of scope of work, plans and specifications, please contact our office.
