PROJECT DETAILS:

The project consists of installing approximately 800 linear feet of 32-inch diameter fusible high density polyethylene (HDPE), 2,070 linear feet of 30-inch, 5,410 linear feet of 24-inch, 3,330 linear feet of 12-inch, 2,180 linear feet of 8-inch diameter water main pipe with restrained joints, including valves, fittings, polyethylene encasement, testing, disinfection, clearing and grubbing, excavation, imported sand, backfill and compaction of backfill, potholing all utility crossings, surface restoration and all necessary appurtenances complete and in place. The pipeline work also includes: excavation of jacking and receiving pits, shoring of trenches and pits as required, pipe jacking operations, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), and all related backfill and compaction. Portions of the pipeline will cross below ground the Union Pacific Railroad within a steel casing and the Coachella Valley Stormwater Channel (HDD) as indicated in the Contract Documents.

Subcontractor Insurance Requirements. Contractor shall not allow any subcontractors to commence work on any subcontract relating to the Work until Contractor has verified that all subcontractors maintain insurance meeting all requirements under this Section and provided evidence to CVWD of such insurance. For Commercial General Liability coverage subcontractors shall provide coverage with a format at least as broad as CG 20 38 04 13. If requested by Contractor, CVWD may approve different scopes or minimum limits of insurance for particular subcontractors. Contractor shall confirm that CVWD and entities identified in the Special Provisions shall be named as additional insureds on all subcontractors’ policies of Commercial General Liability Insurance and Commercial Automobile Insurance.
